Dublin, at last...

We stayed in the London Derry Arms last night. Churchill had stayed there once upon a time. Fuzzy thought he smelled cigar smoke in the bathroom, it is supposedly haunted. We never saw him, but who knows.

Right now we are in Dublin. Have a great room, penthouse quality. After lugging all of our bags for miles it is a relief to put down in a large room. The terrace wraps all the way around the room on one side. We can see the rooftops of Dublin.

Fuzzy is drinking Irish Tea, and I have had one cup. Sadly no whiskey, but that is a coming once we go down for the evening meal. The weather was very wet today, no long six or seven mile walk.

We finally captured a leprachaun, but he has escaped and left us a replacement. As we crossed the bridge into Dublin a rainbow appeared and our leprachaun vanished. AAAKKK NO GOLD.

Will post more pics and a narrative later next week.

Some Beautiful Places

First Guinness

Yes the Guinness has been wonderful so far, but this was only a small part of our Irish vacation. This is the final night of our tour and now we have a fair internet connection. What more could a girl ask for, oh another Guinness.

Day 1 Dublin

We arrived in Dublin this morning without incident, except for sleep deprivation. Luck has been on our side and the hotel let us check in early, so we took a nap for about an hour. The interesting thing about Dublin is the street layout. You have to look at the sides of buildings to find the street you are on, but you might walk one block and they become something entirely different. Our hopes had been to see the Book of Kells (http://www.tcd.ie/about/trinity/bookofkells/), but time and the rain has not been on our side. We did make it to the Museum of Archeology and got to see some great artifacts.

The weather was beautiful until a while ago when we got drenched. Irish weather and all that, it is already clearing to blue skies. No rainbows and no leprechauns today. Oh well tomorrow is another day.

Almost ready to walk out the door...

So it is almost 2:30am and I am almost ready to walk out the door, but I think I need to sleep first. I won't be able to relax until we get on the plane in New York and head toward Ireland. So I am trying to think of anything I may have missed. Oh well, as someone told me yesterday they do have stores in Ireland. We packed light, which I hope pays off. Just how many pairs of pants did Fuzzy actually pack? He told me five, but my little hubby probably has 2 extra pairs underneath the ones he will have on later today.

We fly out of Charlotte at 1pm and land in Dublin by 8am on Sunday. Yippee! Wish us luck and we will post more when we get an internet connection.

Packing

We have started packing, in a round about way. The clothes are starting to amass in a pile. The extras are growing as well. For instance fuzzy says, "Don't you think we need a small power strip?" What on earth, we will see when the bags are packed what goes first, that or the underwear. Think I know which one it will be.
